Pilgrimage Teams & Team Leaders

Dear Pilgrims,

Humble pranams to you all, and blessings as you prepare for this sacred pilgrimage.

As you may know by now, just over two hundred of us are making this Kriya pilgrimage together. A travel group this large is virtually unheard of in the parts of India we will visit. Most groups who tour through this region are much less. Our group will fill many tour buses, and our considerable group size poses several unique challenges: How can we find economical hotels that are big enough to house a group of our size? Where can we find restaurants or dining facilities big enough to feed us all at once? How can we travel together without getting separated? How can we streamline the process of getting on and off buses and trains, making certain that all pilgrims and their luggage travel with the group?

The answer to many of these puzzling questions has been found in this simple solution: we are creating smaller groups--that is, bus-sized teams of pilgrims, and we have also appointed Team Leaders who will assist your team with logistics during our pilgrimage. Your team of pilgrims will stay in the same hotel, travel together on buses, take your meals together, and have small group meditations together.

In the coming weeks you will receive more information about your hotels, fellow team members and team leader. There is one favor that we must ask of each of you: due to the complicated nature of creating the groups, and organizing buses, trains, and hotels, we ask that you humbly accept your team assignment rather than requesting a specific team. Note that even though it creates a special challenge to the organizers, if you have already requested a roommate you will be placed on the same team.

There will be approximately 12 Kriya ashramites and monastics traveling with us as our fellow pilgrims, and they will be floating between all teams. This includes Paramahamsa Prajnanananda. Wherever space, conditions and facilities allow, we will enjoy meals, discourses, and meditation together as an entire group.

In loving service,

The pilgrimage team
