B.Y.O. Fork & Spoon

This update is for those pilgrims who are unaccustomed to taking food with their hands, and who rely on using a fork and spoon when they dine.

It is customary in India to take one's food using the right hand. (The left hand is reserved for toilet duties.) Most of the places where we will eat on our journey will not offer silverware nor plasticware, So if you require these utensils to take your meals, please B.Y.O. (bring your own) fork and spoon. Some of you may even prefer to bring your own personal travel plate and cup, too.

If you are new to eating by hand it may be interesting to know that there are some real benefits to the practice. There is subtle energy coming from our hands and when we bring our hands to our mouth we get some of that energy.

However, for some it may be a challenge to take dahl, or vegetables and broth, without a spoon. So if you need these items, B.Y.O. fork and spoon.
