First Day
Dear Pilgrim,
This letter is to inform you about the first day of our pilgrimage.
All pilgrims should know that our pilgrimage begins on November 15, 2011 in Delhi. If you are arriving in Delhi early and staying at one of our pilgrimage hotels, you should meet your Pilgrimage Team Leader and fellow pilgrims in your hotel lobby at checkout time that day. You will need to check out and pay your hotel bill by this time. Your Team Leader will help you color code your luggage with ribbon so that it will not get lost. Please have your luggage ready in the lobby as we will be heading over to the Ramakrishna Mission for our Group Orientation Meeting.
From your pilgrimage hotel, your Team Leader will help you get to the Ramakrishna Mission which is nearby. Pilgrims will have a choice of traveling by foot, auto-rickshaw, or taxi to the Ramakrishna Mission.
If you are NOT staying at one of the pilgrimage hotels, make your way to the Ramakrishna Mission, and one of the pilgrimage team members there will help you color code your luggage with ribbon.

Meet the pilgrimage group at the Ramakrishna Mission between 2:00 pm and 2:30 pm. Our mandatory Group Orientation Meeting will be held in the Sarada Auditorium at 3:00 pm. There will be important information for all pilgrims during this meeting.
Immediately following our meeting we will have a group meditation followed by dinner. Afterwards we will depart by bus for the Old Delhi Railway Station and board our overnight train to Kathgodam.
If you are coming from the West, please make note of the time difference between your time zone in the West and New Delhi's time zone. Most flights departing from the West will arrive in Delhi the following calendar day. We have discovered that some pilgrims who booked their travel from North America did not realize that they would be arriving on the following day which, for one pilgrim, would have been a day late for the mandatory orientation meeting and the start of the pilgrimage, including the hike to Babaji's cave. And another pilgrim accidentally booked a hotel and taxi for the wrong date because her airline's itinerary did not list the date she arrives in Delhi. This is why it is extremely important that you inspect you tickets carefully, taking into consideration the duration of your flight and the time zone differences.
Please take time now to check your airline tickets and arrival time/date in Delhi. Contact the pilgrimage team immediately if you discover you need to change your hotel or taxi arrangements. Also, if you are arriving on November 15, please make certain that you will be in Delhi no later than 11:00 am on that day. This will give you time to go through Customs, pick up your luggage, exchange currency, and taxi to the Ramakrishna Mission.
